The Diploma
course prepares students for middle to higher positions in
management within the areas of shipping and for post graduate work
for those continuing their education with LIST or at another higher
education establishment. The emphasis of the course is on the
management analysis of problems related to the industry supported
by a comprehensive study of the following subjects:
Subjects - 8
- Financial & Quantitative Methods
- Shipbroking Practice
- Marine Insurance
- Business Administration
- Business and Maritime Law
- Computer and Software Appreciation
- Economics
- Shipping Management
Visits to
Lloyds of London and the Baltic Exchange are organised. Visits to
Docks and other Transport Terminals are arranged during the course
whenever possible.
Entry requirements :

The
Higher Certificate of LIST, or, an
equivalent qualification in
shipping/transport

Relevant work experience may also be taken into consideration for students who are 25 years of age or over who do not possess formal qualifications.
